A warm welcome to our website.
About us
Hello, we are Andrew and Elizabeth Morton, probably better known to most of you in the shortened version of Andy and Liz.
We live in a small village built up around a 18th century hamlet in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Its a lovely little community where ancient arts and crafts still thrive, handed down from one generation to the next without written instruction.
About the dogs.
Our dogs are not only our pets and companions, they are a lifestyle choice, everything changes when you bring one of these wonderful animals into your home, hopefully this site will go some way to prepare you for that if you are considering sharing your life with one.
Our 'fur kids' are all combinations of the breeds of dog we admire most, Husky, German Shepherd and Malamute. It just so happens they fall into what's now known as the 'Wolf like dog category' the category is not important to us, its just a descriptive term, we are just as happy to call them crossbreeds.
As most people insist on a label to describe the breeding behind a dog this is the one that fits ours. All our dogs have come from breeders who set out to breed a dog that resembled the wolf, no mean feat without actually adding wolf blood, by viewing the photo albums you can decide for yourself how close they got.
Mostly our dogs have Utonagan and Northern Inuit lines behind them, they are registered with neither of these societies and we are independent of both clubs. Much controversy exists as to wolf content at the formation of these types of dog and we leave it up to you to form your own opinion after viewing the various sections, after many years of searching we have discovered that there is no proof to be found either way, only hearsay.
We understand the importance and confusion the Wolf look alike label implies and have therefore tried to link you to as many of the differing 'types' websites as we can, giving you as much information and as broad a perspective of the dogs as possible, hopefully helping you to reach a decision on which 'type' suits you, your family and your circumstances best.
Its very important to note the differences in the dogs used by various clubs as there are many and they do not all use the same type of dogs, mixing some breed characteristics may not result in the behaviour you are looking for in your future pet. The best advice we can give is to research them all, we extend a warm welcome to anyone wishing to visit our dogs before commiting yourself to owning one.
We hope you enjoy your visit and pop back to see our updates from time to time, the site is by no means extensive but we feel it covers the basic questions you and other members of the public most commonly ask about our dogs and other Wolf lookalike types.
