Containment.
If you are unlucky enough to get an escape artist (not all are) we suggest you aquire 9 gauge link fencing at least 6 foot high, include an overhang if your dogs are climers/jumpers.
You may choose to have 2ft deep concrete around the perimeter, the wire can be set in or slab along the perimeter or use a ground wire, any and all of these are to prevent digging. They don't dig or try to escape because they are unhappy at home, they do it just because they enjoy it !!
Its also a good idea to have a double gate entry system so anybody entering your property has to close one gate before opening another or to stop the dogs shooting past you before you get a lead on if you have cats ect in the area.
You must provide fresh drinking water at all times, adequate shelter and good shaded area's. Never, ever tie your dogs out.

How we built our enclosure
Click on pics to enlarge.
We used reclaimed telegraph poles 8ft in length, 2ft deep into the ground, our dogs do not attempt to climb out so we have no need for an overhang. Stakes went in the ground and then supports and a block to secure in upright position. Tension wire was then attatched top, middle and bottom. The wire was purchased at a reclamation yard, steel wire mesh at the bottom and rylock at the top. The shed is there for shade and to have a dry place to go if it rains, it's filled with straw for comfort. In the last two pics you can see the dogs laying under for shade and laying on top for panoramic views of the countryside.
